File to Fabrication 2

Just another Laser Cutter building....

This is the exact template I use right before we place the 1/16" thick chipboard into the laser cutter --- Cyclone colors! Yellow reads as just an 'etching line,' and red reads as a 'cut line.' Simple stuff yeah?

File To Fabrication

My Own Worst Enemy -- the Laser Cutter

So I have been working with our school's laser cutter for the last few weeks, making digital models and printing them to make 3d models on our in-house laser cutter. I'm getting better, but I'm no expert. My greatest feat yet is the John Joseph Moakley United States Courthouse, a building which faces our site in Boston. I'm building it at 1/16" = 1'-0" scale for our large site model in class. Check 'er out.

The Digital file I made -- drawing it as separate pieces that will hopefully fit together like a glove!

 Final Model!

Madrid Bridge

Took a trip down to Madrid the other day to check out a sweet new bridge. The design is fairly reminiscent of a project I had last year, so I just had to see it. Now at this point, I'm just waiting for the architect/engineer to contact me and thank me for the great idea, we'll see how that turns out....

Remember this guy?

Keeping up with the Jones's

Site work is beginning to happen on my design for the Jones Residence! Mass Excitement! Once again I want to thank them for giving this great opportunity, I'm looking forward to this all coming together nicely!

Thanks to Mama and Pops for taking these photos for me while I prepare for an all-nighter in studio!

Studio works...

Continuing to work away on my studio project, having lots of conversations/collaborations with my group mates and my professor Cham.

Red Wanting Blue

Managed my time enough the other day to go and see one of my favorite bands play here in Ames - Red Wanting Blue. What an amazing time! During the show, one of my friends even asked his girlfriend to marry him, that is how awesome this band is.....and she said yes!

This place was packed to the brim
