Corviale

Went walking around this morning in a place called Corviale -- an interesting architectural project that tried to fit an entire city into a building -- its over a 1/4 mile long, and this thing is huge. Unfortunately, before the project had actually finished its construction, the city of Rome moved people in, so before they could put the finishing touches on it, it became a slum area. Now, the city is trying to keep the building alive, but you can tell this super structure is struggling a bit. Either way, this place is amazing, the architectural ideas and concepts are very visible and easily discernible -- If it were to ever be renovated, It would be MONUMENTAL

Check it!

Drawing -- MAXXI

Went back to the Maxxi again for our drawing class -- but as it turned out, apparently I was the only one doing any drawing --check it!

When volcano ash came down over the city of Pompeii 79 AD, people were buried by it and a void was left over once the body decomposed -- plaster was then poured into these voids to create these body casts -- its really neat to see the positions of these people in their last moments of life, you can really see the emotion of what was happening to them
